Carnival Cruise Line is on a growth spurt, both in number of ships in their fleet and the size of their cruise ships. The Cruise Line has reached an agreement in principle with the Canaveral Port Authority on a new state-of-the-art terminal able to accommodate its new 180,000-ton ship, the largest ever constructed for the line, set to debut in 2020. Carnival Triumph to Become Carnival Sunrise After $200 Million Refit

Carnival Cruise Line announced plans to makeover the Carnival Triumph with a $200-Million dry dock, that will transform the 19 year old ship with venues that are found on their most recent cruise ships. At the completion of the dry dock, the ship will be renamed Carnival Sunrise and will be the second ship in Carnival’s Sunshine Class. Carnival Horizon Named by Godmother Queen Latifah

Carnival Horizon, the newest cruise ship from Carnival Cruise Line, celebrated the official naming ceremony by the ship’s Godmother, Queen Latifah. Following the ceremony, Latifah squared off against Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl champion Jake Elliott in Lip Sync Battle: Horizon modeled after the hit Paramount Network TV series and rolling out across the Carnival fleet. Exciting New Itineraries and Dry Dock For Carnival Legend

Following the completion of an extensive dry dock, Carnival Legend will sail exciting new itineraries to Alaska, Hawaii, Australia and the Panama Canal before repositioning to Tampa in 2019. The 2,124 passenger Carnival Legend is undergoing an extensive two-week-long dry dock that is taking place in Portland, Ore. and is adding a variety of popular food and beverage concepts.
