Carnival Cruise Line thanked the troops by hosting the world’s first “social media powered  barbecue” for military troops at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego. By using #ThankYouBurger, Americans from all over were asked to show their appreciation of the U.S. military by using social media to tweet and post messages of gratitude via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
