Princess Cruises has officially named entrepreneurs and co-founders of Pantalones Organic Tequila, Camila and Matthew McConaughey, as the godparents for their newest Sphere-Class vessel, the Star Princess.
The celebrity couple will christen the 177,800-ton, 4,300-guest ship during a celebratory Naming Ceremony in Fort Lauderdale on November 6, 2025. By accepting this role, they join a distinguished legacy of Princess Cruises godparents that includes cultural legends like Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, and Sophia Loren.
A Partnership of Spirit and Style
Camila and Matthew McConaughey embody the values of passion, generosity, and innovation, which Princess Cruises President Gus Antorcha stated make them the “perfect pair to christen our newest ship.”
The partnership extends beyond the naming ceremony:
- Pantalones Organic Tequila: The couple’s tequila brand is already featured across the Princess fleet as part of the “Love Line Premium Liquors” collection.
- Signature Cocktails: Guest favorites include the 24K Gold Margarita, and a mobile Pantalones Organic Margarita Cart is available to serve themed drinks around the ship.
- McConaughey’s View on Cruising: “With Princess, it’s not just a vacation—it’s time well spent, families and friends coming together, meeting new folks, and making memories,” the couple said, adding, “This ship’s got that spirit built right in, and we’re proud to be part of her story from the beginning.”

The Star Princess is the second of the line’s new Sphere-Class ships and is designed to usher in the next generation of cruising. Key features and spaces include:

Inaugural Voyages
The Star Princess will debut in the Mediterranean on October 4, 2025, sailing roundtrip from Barcelona.
She will then cross the Atlantic to begin a season of Caribbean voyages from Fort Lauderdale on November 7, 2025. Following her Caribbean season, she will sail through the Panama Canal to begin her inaugural Alaska Season.
