Carnival Valor Completes Dry Dock With New Enhancements

Carnival Valor - Barcelona (2025 Drydock)

After a significant month-long dry dock, the Carnival Valor officially returned to service today, showcasing a range of enhancements designed to elevate guest comfort and introduce exciting new features. Among these are a new WaterWorks aqua park and a Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge. The ship greeted its first post-refurbishment guests in Barcelona before setting sail on a special Carnival Journeys transatlantic voyage back to its homeport of New Orleans.

This refurbishment not only introduced thrilling new features but also made comprehensive upgrades to accessibility throughout public areas, from enhanced pathways to improved facilities. Among the most significant additions is the WaterWorks aqua park, an exhilarating family favorite on the ship’s top deck, complete with twin slides for all ages. Furthermore, guests will find the new Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge on Deck 5, a dedicated gathering space to honor the many active-duty military and veterans who sail with Carnival, now a beloved feature across 16 ships in the fleet.

Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line said:

“Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge is a heartfelt salute to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country – and it’s fitting to have this popular venue now featured on Carnival Valor, a ship named in honor of our heroes,”

“We’re proud that more military families choose Carnival for their well-deserved vacations than any other cruise line.”

Get ready to experience an even better cruise with a variety of exciting enhancements. Staterooms now offer greater convenience with new USB outlets and brighter lighting. The ship’s casino has been expanded and refreshed, providing an improved layout and new gaming choices. You’ll find a revitalized environment for relaxation and fitness at the new Cloud 9 Spa. Creative new spaces include the Dream Studio on Deck 3 for personalized photo sessions and Carnival Adventures on Deck 5, where you can learn about and book shore excursions. Kids and teens will also enjoy refreshed spaces with age-appropriate amenities, like Camp Ocean’s fleet-first LED feature wall for interactive programming and gaming, along with new gaming and karaoke experiences in Circle “C” and Club 02. Throughout the ship, upgraded carpets and general refurbishments create a modern and inviting atmosphere.

After arriving in New Orleans, Carnival Valor will pick up its popular year-round itinerary, offering four- and five-day Western Caribbean cruises with calls at sought-after Mexican destinations such as Cozumel and Progreso.
